Stuttering & Fluency Therapy

Gentle, supportive strategies that build your child's confidence in everyday conversations, while honoring how they communicate.

Lots of young children go through a period of bumpy, repetitive speech, and for many it passes on its own. But when stuttering persists, increases, or starts to bother your child, supportive therapy can help, and earlier is generally better.

What you might notice

  • Repeating sounds, syllables, or whole words (“b-b-ball,” “I want, I want”)
  • Stretching sounds out (“ssssoup”)
  • Pauses or moments where your child seems stuck
  • Physical tension, or frustration and avoidance around talking
  • A family history of stuttering

How we help

Our goal is not to make every sentence perfectly smooth. It is to help your child communicate freely and feel good doing it. Depending on your child’s age and needs, we use gentle, evidence-based approaches that reduce tension and dysfluencies, while also helping your child build confidence and accept that fluency differences are okay.

If your child’s stuttering has lasted more than six months, seems to be getting worse, or is starting to frustrate them, it is worth a conversation. You never need a referral to talk with us.
