What therapy actually looks like.
Starting speech therapy can feel uncertain. Here's what to expect from your initial call through the following months.
- 01Before therapy starts
The first call
We begin with a thorough conversation where you share your concerns about what you are noticing at home, and we discuss how speech and language therapy may be helpful.
- 02Weeks 1–5
Getting to know your child
We spend time informally assessing your child's speech and language skills and testing out different strategies. Together we set goals that feel meaningful and achievable.
- 03Weeks 6 and onward
Therapy and parent coaching
Weekly play-based sessions your child looks forward to, plus the tools and language for you to carry progress into everyday life, at the dinner table, on the way to school, wherever your child needs support.
Most families see meaningful progress within a few months, but every child moves at their own pace.
