Good to know

Questions parents ask.

A few of the things families want to know before getting started.

  • What ages do you work with?

We work with toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children, through the teen years.

  • Do you take insurance?

Little Voices Big Words is a private-pay practice. We provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and we are HSA and FSA friendly.

  • Do I need a referral or a diagnosis to start?

No. You can reach out directly, no referral or prior diagnosis required. The best first step is a free 15-minute consultation so we can hear your concerns.

  • Where do sessions take place?

Sessions are primarily held at our Arlington office. For added convenience, we also offer services in your home, your child's daycare, or school when appropriate. Teletherapy services are available throughout Massachusetts, providing flexible access to support when in-person sessions are not possible.

  • What happens during an evaluation?

We complete a comprehensive assessment of your child’s speech, language, and communication, then walk you through the findings and a clear, personalized plan.

  • How long will my child need therapy?

It depends on your child’s individual speech and language needs, the severity of their difficulties, and your family's goals. Some children make progress quickly, while others benefit from longer-term support. Most families see meaningful progress within a few months. We work collaboratively to set goals so you always know what we are targeting and how your child is progressing.

  • Which towns do you work with?

Families come to our Arlington office from Arlington, Winchester, Lexington, Belmont, and beyond. If you are willing to travel to Arlington we would love to see you, and teletherapy is available across Massachusetts.
